“From our first meeting a year before our wedding until the wedding itself, Nate and Dillon (our DJ) were amazing! Nate really eased my mind about having a DJ at the wedding. He assured me that Amplify was not a cheesy 90s DJ company and he was right! During our first meeting he talked with us for about an hour, getting to know us, asking what type of music we like, didn’t like, and our overall vision for the wedding. He gave us the option to pick our own DJ, but after meeting him we felt comfortable having him match us up with someone. Our DJ, Dillon, was great! He is so laid back but super fun. A couple days before the wedding, we were worried that Tropical Storm Nate (haha) would affect our outdoor wedding. We were able to last minute move our reception indoors at the Southwood Clubhouse but still have our ceremony outdoors. Nate/Dillon were super understanding and flexible about the whole thing. They set up two systems for us and made sure everything ran smoothly. Luckily it did not rain! Dillon picked the energy back up when people went outside to smoke cigars and drew them back in, so it was never dead and there were people always dancing. We are so thankful that we chose Amplify, their price was fair, especially for everything they provide. I recommend Amplify to any couple searching for a DJ. You will not be disappointed! “Most people fear their wedding day won’t measure up to everyone’s expectations and I know I feared it wouldn’t be fun for my guests because we weren’t serving alcohol and I was a nervous wreck. But the DJ Dillon was so awesome! He not only kept everyone involved and dancing, he took requests and was so interactive. “We loved our experience with Amplify! When I was searching for a DJ, I knew right away after checking out the Amplify website that I wanted to hire them. And I got even more excited after meeting with Nate and telling him our vision for our reception, styles of music we liked, etc. They really invested time in making sure our reception reflected our personalities. Not just the dancing music – but the cocktail hour, toasts, announcements, everything. They were willing to play all of our weird indie music requests, didn’t play cheesy songs, and didn’t do anything ridiculous or embarrassing during our reception (I have seen some weird DJs…). Dillon was such a fun DJ – we only met with him once before the wedding, and communicated briefly the week-of, yet when we showed up to the reception it was like seeing an old friend! He was super fun and very flexible. He patiently worked with us and the delays/time changes of the day. He was great at keeping everyone entertained and the reception rolling – all while making sure everyone was relaxed and having a great time. I honestly had no worries during my wedding reception and wish I could have slowed it all down to enjoy it more! Random highlight: Dillon found an acoustic version of the song we played to walk into our reception, and played it during our cake cutting. My husband and I both got excited hearing it again, and we even had guests comment on how beautiful it was. It was the little things like that gem that made it so special! 🙂 I highly recommend Amplify – great time for the guests AND the couple! Not your average DJs, and very professional and experienced.
