"We hired Amplify for a wedding in Salt Lake City in March, 2017, and our DJ was Dave. The company was prompt and responsive to calls, texts and email, the flow of the party was maintained, Dave reacted swiftly to changes on the fly, and they had no problem finding all the music on our playlist, even though we had a lot of obscure Indian songs. But most of all, he was able to read the crowd and switch up the music selection to keep the dancing going. Far better than expected for a perfect evening."

Clients Review Dave
From a young age, Dave was heavily influenced by music all around. At home he remembers the piano lessons his mom would give; outside the home, he remembers having to jump over others’ shoulders in order to see his brothers bands perform. “I was four years old when I saw my first rock concert. I went to so many shows and I never remember feeling embarrassed about dancing or singing along.” Raised in a loud and exciting atmosphere, Dave loves being a part of events that make his adrenaline start pumping. At the age of nine years old, Dave began to play the drums and continues to play and sing with various groups. Having recently returned from a two-year mission trip to Mexico, Dave has a love for the Latin-American culture and is fluent in Spanish. He is currently a Psychology Major at Brigham Young University. If Dave DJs your event, be sure that you will have a very interactive experience—Dave is not afraid to get out into the crowd to party, and if you let him, he will talk your ear off.
Tell us some fun facts about you!
- In the Fifth grade I was the chief of the Safety Patrols. That’s kinda cool, right?
- In high school I got to march in the London New Year’s Day Parade on the drumline.
- One time when I was in a kayak I touched a dolphin that swam past me.
- I jumped off a moving train in Mexico. Yeah, I do stunts too.
- I love crowd-surfing. Don’t worry, I won’t try it at your wedding (unless you ask me to).
- I’m a big fan of fun facts.
What is your favorite dance floor song right now?
Wow! That’s a tough question. I’m going to give three different answers. Come On Eileen by Dexy’s Midnight Runners, Love Me by The 1975, and Can’t Feel My Face by The Weeknd. Honorable Mention goes to anything Bruno Mars.
What was the first album that you owned?
I’m 90% sure that it was There Is Nothing Left to Lose by Foo Fighters. There is a 10% chance that it was Ocean Avenue by Yellowcard. Both were birthday presents from my brother Nate, and both are now two of my favorite albums of all-time.
How would you define your style as a DJ?
I love making people dance. There have been times when people were initially shy to dance at events that I have done, so I have danced with the few people that are on the dance floor to help them feel comfortable and then, every time, almost everyone else has joined in. You could say it’s a little unorthodox, but as a DJ I like to move around a lot and make sure that the event is a success. I’m pretty much willing to do whatever it takes to make everyone have a night to remember.
What are your favorite genres to listen to?
I love music. There is just so much good music out there that it can sometimes be hard to pinpoint it. However there is a very special place in my heart for pop-punk (Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday, All Time Low, The Starting Line, etc.) I also love indie pop (The 1975, The Wombats, Hot Hot Heat, St. Lucia, etc.) I’m always ready to listen to 80s (Def Leppard, Journey, Billy Idol, etc.) Of course I’m a fanatic of pop music you can dance to (Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, T-Pain, etc.) and I love everything in between (to name a few, The Postal Service, Daphne Loves Derby, As Tall As Lions, OK Go, Bruce Springsteen, The American Dollar, etc.).
Anything else you’d like to say?
I would love to DJ your wedding! It’ll be epic!
