Born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens by an educator and an international pianist/Latin percussionist, DJ Jose was influenced in his upbringing by jazz, Latin, reggae, pop, house and hip hop music. He grew up in studios and among band rehearsals. He was introduced to DJing by one of Queens' finest, DJ PHD. As he grew, he later played sound with Jamaican Sound System, Soultech Int'l. At that time, Gansta (Owner of Soultech Int'l), DJ Ghost and DJ Jose were the original members of the group. DJ Jose played an extensive amount events from clubs to weddings to private events.

DJing has taken Jose to all boroughs of New York, New Jersey, Maryland, D.C., Atlanta, Florida, Dominica and Roaton. He has played alongside artists from Stone Love, Body Guard and Tony Matterhorn to Beres Hammond, Barrington Levy and Freddie McGregor. This led to DJ Jose working for VP records, were he worked with international Dancehall artists like, Morgan Heritage, T.O.K., Wayne Wonder and Luciano. He promoted events and helped send reggae music all over the world. Now making Tallahassee and Amplify his home, DJ Jose's aim is to bring each of his client's a worry-free and fun musical experience!
