Music has been part of Sir’s life since his earliest memory. Born and raised in New York City, he was constantly surrounded by a wide variety of sounds and genres. Always tapping his feet or bobbing his head to a smooth beat, Sir began playing drums and piano at age 11, then moved on to trombone and baritone horn in middle and high school. He performed in orchestral, marching, and jazz bands before graduating from the prestigious LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts.

During the dawn of NYC’s hip hop era, Sir—also known as DJ Kool Street—started out as a hip-hop DJ and formed a rap group while serving in the U.S. Air Force. He also played trumpet and bugle in the Honor Guard, honoring the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.

Having previously paused his music journey to raise a family and build a government career, Sir’s passion for music, creating vibes, and having a good time never left him, leading to his return to DJing -- and to AMPLIFY -- share his passion once again.

Sir enjoys all types of music, especially hip hop, RnB, old school, reggae, soca, afrobeats, EDM, house, Top 40, and pop.
