"Dexter, the DJ at Amplify, is the kind of dream vendor that as soon as we started working with him we felt immense relief because we knew he was going to do a perfect job, and he ended up exceeding even those expectations. He was so kind, collaborative, and professional during all the planning process, and blew us away with his energy, excitement, and flawless execution during our big day. We started with a phone call with Nate, the owner of Amplify. He gave us the overall rundown of the kind of in-depth service we were going to get. It sounded great, so we signed on and then browsed the profiles of the Amplify DJs to see who was the best fit for our vibe -- Dexter was our first choice. We then had a phone call to get to know Dexter, and he was instantly personable and genuine. He made us feel like he cared about understanding who we were as humans and how we envisioned our wedding day before even getting into discussions about music selection. In that department it was clear he had a deep appreciation for and knowledge of all kinds of different music, and he was excited to use that love for music to help us create a uniquely personal, crowd pleasing but non-cliche plan for our full day of wedding tunes. We had a lot of specific kinds of music we wanted for our big day: piano covers of indie rock songs for the ceremony, old-timey parlor jazz for cocktail hour and dinner, recognizable but not-played-out soul for cake time, and a final dance mix that included everything from The Twist to Will Smith to Cardi B. Dexter happily and patiently corresponded with us over email as we nailed down the vibe of all these different parts of the wedding. On the big day he absolutely nailed every one of these musical categories, hitting all the key moments with perfect timing, and managing the energy of the room from the start of the ceremony until final dance. The sound quality and volume levels were just right, everybody who needed a microphone had one, and there was never a squeak of hot-mic feedback the whole night. Dexter went above and beyond, helping us decide on our custom uplighting colors and setting all that up to make the venue sparkle, and even jumping out on the dance floor to get people moving. We are both so grateful that we got to share our wedding day with such a wonderful human as Dexter, and will always be grateful for him for giving it the perfect soundtrack."
