“Welcome to the Best Day Ever,” read the sign. A temporary tattoo parlor served up T&K-designed temp ink for all of the friends and family who came to support Thomas and Kacie. The food was naturally delectable, provided by Liberty Bar & Restaurant, co-owned by Thomas. The menu from cocktail hour through dinner and dessert rocked hard. I certainly ate my fair share of oysters, but I’m pretty sure Steven with Wild Light Films ate more. Just sayin.

Cocktail hour was pretty laid back and my play list included Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, Percy Sledge, Roy Orbison and Eddie Cochran, among others. I intro’ed the wedding party to “Get Married,” a track from Thomas’ old band, Only Thieves. Everyone was pumped for an awesome evening. Dinner changed gears a little with some Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Lucero, Rilo Kiley, Jeff Buckley. Toward the end, it got all 90s with Third Eye Blind, Sugar Ray, OMC and yes, even LFO. Naturally, my favorite part of the evening was opening that dance floor up. I played LOTS of ’90s (Chumbawumba, DMX, Usher, Spice Girls, N Sync, Montell Jordan and even some TLC), Motown, some pop-punk and lots of hip hop. You know we had to have some Remix to the Ignition as well. We had a beard-off that I was barely worthy of emceeing. We ended the night in epic fashion with everyone involved clapping it up and belting out Rilo Kiley’s “With Arm’s Outstretched.” What a night. What a crew!
