About

Located in between Tallahassee and Thomasville right off of Highway 319, you'll love to escape to the pines and soak up charming Loblolly Rise. An ample 5,000 square feet of space provides plenty of room for your guests, a dance floor, bar, cake, and even some room for a hangout spot right by the fireplace!

The whitewashed, open-air barn adds delightful touches from the owner, Whitney, including the hearth, six chandeliers (and yes, they are on dimmers!), white draping, cafe bistro lights just outside the barn, and beautiful ceremony sites that feature a backdrop of either an oak tree or southern Georgia pines. And you must check out the bridal cabin, which can actually be rented for an overnight stay after the wedding if you need a comfortable and clean place to crash before the honeymoon without ever leaving the property. Sleep it off and wake up to the same serene setting the following day!

Insider Tips

  • The fireplace mantle is the absolute perfect spot for our Custom Monogram Lighting, which is a really big hit here! Be sure to check out some photos on our Custom Monogram Lighting page and on our Instagram.

  • The barn floor is concrete (not dirt/straw), which is nice so it doesn't kick up dust and you can add a bit more elegant touches here than with a dirt-floor barn. It also means you don't needΒ a dance floor (unless you plan on dancing under the cafe lights just outside the barn on the grass). Having said that a dance floor is still a great add-on that really ties everything together and most of our clients book one for this venue. Our dance floors also offer some anti-fatigue properties, meaning your body won't hurt as bad as quickly as it would dancing on concrete. The most popular styles here are checkerboard, dark maple, bamboo, and oak parquet. Check out all of our styles and sizes at our Dance Floors page. You'll even see a few examples in the dance floor gallery from Loblolly Rise!

  • We love venues that are big enough to accommodate a last-minute rain contingency, if needed, and Loblolly Rise definitely fits the bill since it has plenty of covered space. We once DJed a wedding here where golf-ball sized hail rained down and a heavy rain kept up through the entire ceremony, which was under the cover of the barn with the fireplace/hearth as the backdrop. It may sound strange, but the pouring rain made for an incredibly peaceful and nature-filled moment.

  • Our favorite spot to set up the DJ is centered against the back wall with the dance floor right in front of that. It keeps the dance floor central and the action in view of everyone when it's time to party!
